Heather Mulvey is a New Jersey based musician who plays finger-picking acoustic guitar and sings traditional Americana, Celtic and contemporary folk songs, entertaining audiences of all ages since the early '90's. Heather’s programs include Americana Music Journey, CelticMusic Journey, Animal Songs Sing-Along, Songs ofthe Season, and her newest programs, Flowers from the Mountain and Senior Outreach Program. A history of the songs is incorporated into the programs and interaction and participation is always encouraged. Heather has performed at community events, cultural and heritage commissions, festivals, schools, First Nights and libraries throughout NJ and was a Featured Artist at both the NJLA Annual Meeting in 2005 and as well at the Garden State Storytellers' League "Tellabration" event in 2006.
Venues include American as Apple Pie Festival, East Jersey Olde Towne Village, Chester Library, Ocean County Library, Milltown Library, Princeton Library, Watchung Library, Westfield Library, First Night Morris County, Waterloo Village, and Sunrise Assisted Living.
Flowers from the Mountain, released in May 2008, features Celtic and Americana songs. The songs include: Red is the Rose, Shady Grove, America the Beautiful, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Fishin' Blues, Wild Mountain Thyme, Home Sweet Home, Danny Boy, He Moved Through the Fair, and Connemara Cradle Song.
Contributing musicians are Bob Harris (also the producer of the cd, International Flatpick Guitar Champion, and formerly the guitar player for Vassar Clements) on guitar and mandolin and Gary Oleyar (of Loggins and Messina band) on fiddle and viola. The record was produced at Ampersand Records.
